background and training in Jungian Analysis
I was born and raised in the United Kingdom. I am a graduate of the Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists in London, England where I trained as a Jungian Analyst and had a private psychotherapy practice for over 12 years. I also studied Sandplay Therapy with the British and Irish Sandplay Society. I have been closely involved with Jungian psychology for more than twenty years and have undergone a long personal analysis. This is essential for a psychotherapist to experience, for he or she acts as a guide and therefore has to know the depths and heights of their own psyche before leading others on a journey to discover theirs. For several years I was a faculty member of the London Sesame Institute’s Post-Graduate programme of training in Drama and Movement Therapy. I taught Jungian Studies on this programme and was a training therapist for their candidates. My first degree was in English Literature followed by Theatre Studies and then I worked in British theatre for a decade, including the Royal Shakespeare Company. I returned to university to take Postgraduate Studies in Linguistics and Phonetics and worked for twenty years in London, England as a university lecturer specialising in the study of speech and intonation. I immigrated to Canada in January 2005 to join my husband, fellow Jungian analyst Laurie Savlov. I am a member of the following
professional organisations who oversee standards of training, ethics and
practice: Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts (OAJA) College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists, UK (IGAP) International Association for Analytical Psychology
